To celebrate Father's Day, the Men's Group is sponsoring a fishing contest and tubing at Greenwood Lake for fathers and their children.

The event is planned for Saturday, June 19th from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be food and prizes but participants will need to bring their own fishing poles and bait. If the event is rained out the event will be moved to June 26th.

Next Sunday we will be decorating our sanctuary with Easter lilies. If you would like to purchase a plant, please send an e-mail to Lorraine, the church secretary, at gbcsecty@warwick.net (no later than Tuesday, Mar. 30th please) with "In memory Of" or "In Honor Of". Plants are $7.00 each.

A spaghetti dinner is being held this Saturday, February 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church located at 307 Route 94 in Vernon.

This ecumenical even is sponsored by the Vernon Clergy Association in conjunction with the Christ Community Church and various volunteers from local churches and money raised will be used for the Haiti relief efforts.

Adults - $8.00, Children and Seniors - $5.00

The menu consists of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce, salad, bread, desserts, coffee and soft drinks.

All are welcome to participate in the National Day of Prayer. This is an opportunity for everyone to recognize the need for personal prayer discipline and stress the urgency to pray on behalf of our nation and its leaders.

Meet at 12 noon at the flagpole in front of the Vernon Municipal Building.

Dave Pettigrew and his band will be performing music from their new CD titled "Every Minute Miracles" on Saturday, December 22nd at 7 p.m. at the Glenwood Baptist Church.
